The BOLD Youth Leadership Cohort is an empowering program designed to cultivate compassionate and authentic leaders through hands-on learning, mentorship, and community projects.
Our Mission
We are dedicated to cultivating the next generation of compassionate, authentic, and empowered leaders. Through a strengths-based approach, we provide high school juniors and seniors with the tools and support they need to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.

Student Leadership in Action
BOLD Youth students don't just learn leadership; they live it. Each participant is paired with a college mentor. These are leaders who have successfully completed a similar program during high school and now attend prestigious institutions such as Stanford University and UC Berkeley. These mentors, coached by leadership expert Julie Sesser of ASAPconnect, guide students as they develop their leadership skills and implement community projects that reflect their passions and values.
In addition to personal growth, BOLD Youth participants contribute to larger systemic conversations, offering insights at statewide convenings and shaping the future of expanded learning programs across California. By building a network of like-minded peers, BOLD Youth participants grow as leaders who are equipped to impact their communities and the world around them.
Partnerships That Drive Success
The BOLD Youth program thrives through the collaboration of key partners, including 21st Century High School After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens (ASSETs) program grantees, who help identify and recruit students eager to enhance their leadership abilities. This partnership ensures that students from diverse backgrounds and regions have the opportunity to access this transformative experience.
Through these collaborations, BOLD Youth is more than a leadership program; it is a movement to empower young leaders who will shape the future with compassion, authenticity, and a commitment to the greater good.
